Winona-Ryder
Winona Ryder (born Winona Laura Hornowitz) was born in Winona Minnesota. The parents of Winona Ryder named her for her hometown. Michel Horowitz was her father as well as Cynthia Palmer, his mother, were both authors and editors. Ryder, who considers herself Jewish has a connection to Ryder's Jewish father. Her half-siblings are younger, Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder along with her whole family relocated to Mendocino County in California in the year 2000, when Ryder was only seven years old. There was no electricity. Ryder was a voracious bookworm and would spend her days studying books since she had no television. Ryder began taking acting classes when Ryder was 12, in the American Conservatory Theatre. She landed her debut role on the big screen in 1986, when she was 15 years old. Ryder experienced bullying at her high school. She thought that by becoming an actor, her behavior was going to be corrected. Unfortunately that didn't come to pass. The actress continued to chase her ambitions. Beetlejuice which was a 1988 Tim Burton film, was her debut big break. Ryder continued to be successful in her characters in numerous films. In 1993, she was nominated twice for Academy Awards. One of them for her role In The Age of Innocence.
